Amanda was first introduced to the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics in 2012 during a visit to Hugh Herr's lab at MIT, an experience that ignited her passion for the discipline. Subsequently, she pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering and continued her education in orthotics and prosthetics at the graduate level. During her undergraduate studies, Amanda participated in a service trip to China, where she crafted and fitted ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) for children with cerebral palsy. Amanda then gained experience working in Barcelona under a leading specialist in scoliosis and prosthetics. She furthered her expertise during graduate school, where she met her husband. Both pursued residencies in Charlotte, where Amanda trained under a top orthotist-prosthetist specializing in scoliosis, pediatrics, and cranial orthotics. After completing their residencies, Amanda and her husband relocated to Salt Lake City to expand their experience with diverse patient populations. In Utah, Amanda distinguished herself as a leading cranial remolding orthotist at Hanger Clinic, while also working extensively with patients with scoliosis, neurological conditions, and amputations. Amanda is highly trained in a variety of scoliosis devices such as the Boston Brace, Providence® Device, Rigo Chêneau, and the newest technology, the Whisper Brace.
Dylan has been immersed in the O&P field for as long as he can remember. As a child, he enjoyed spending time playing at his grandfather’s company, Boston Brace, and loved accompanying his father to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he would play nintendo with the pediatric patients. When he reached high school, Dylan eagerly began working as a technician for his father’s company. In college, he took on a research and development role with one of the largest O&P device manufacturers in the United States. During graduate school, he gained experience by shadowing at his brother’s company, which specialized in wound care treatment. Dylan and his family moved down to Charlotte to begin his residency where he learned from various seasoned clinicians in the field who helped develop a variety of manufacturing and patient skills. Upon completion of his residency, the family relocated to Utah to broaden their expertise with a diverse and active patient population. While in Utah, Dylan worked with complex amputees and even paralympic athletes. Dylan is highly trained in wound care management and complicated prosthetic cases.
